STORY OF HOW A TORTOISE BECAME A BALD
Once upon a time, tortoise had hair on his head but he lost his hair because of his own misdeed. This happened a long time ago. One day, the dog and his family prepared a feast of yam porridge. the delicious aroma of the porridge reached the tortoise. he traced the smell to the dog's house. he went in and saw the pot of yam porridge on fire.
\Tortoise was a greedy animal. and wanted the porridge all to himself so he thought of tricking the dog. he said, "The king wished to see you and your family at the palace." When dog had this, he left for the palace.
Tortoise saw that he had the large pot of porridge to himself he began to eat the pot of porridge as fast as he could. he wanted to eat all before dog and his family returned.
Not long after, he heard dog's footsteps. he peeped on the pot and saw that there was still some porridge left. He took his cap and put the remaining porridge into it. He then put the cap back on his head. He knew he would be able to steal the porridge safely. As he was about to leave, dog and his family. They asked him to stay for dinner. Tortoise however wanted to hurry back. The porridge in his cap was hot and his head was already burning.
Dog's family however insist that he stay for dinner. Tortoise had no choice but to wait. After some time, when he could no bear the pain any more, he pulled of his cap. To every one surprise, the hot porridge streamed down from his cap. It had burned his scalp and removed all his hair. The porridge had burn his scalp so badly that his hair never grow back again.
